Our penetration testing service gives you an attacker's view of your systems before a real attacker gets one. Certified testers work through your web applications, mobile apps, APIs and networks inside a scope and rules of engagement that you approve in writing, then show you exactly what they could reach and how to stop it.
Vulnerability assessment and penetration testing (VAPT) combines two kinds of work. The assessment maps and rates every weakness we can find, using automated scanning followed by manual triage so you are not handed a list of false positives. The penetration test then safely exploits the findings that matter, chaining them together the way an attacker would, so you can see the real business impact: whose data could be read, which payments could be altered, which accounts could be taken over.
Most of our VAPT engagements in Kenya are for banks, SACCOs, fintechs, insurers, SaaS platforms and public institutions preparing for an audit, a regulator review or a major release. Many regulators and enterprise customers now expect independent testing at least once a year and after significant change. We plan testing windows around your business hours, can work against a staging environment, and escalate any critical finding to your nominated contact the same day rather than waiting for the final report.
Every engagement ends with two documents: an executive summary written for your board and management, and a technical report with reproduction steps, evidence, CVSS v4 scores and remediation guidance specific to your technology stack. After your team has fixed the findings we retest them at no extra cost and issue an attestation letter you can share with auditors, partners and customers. Testers sign an NDA before scoping, findings are stored encrypted, and only the contacts you nominate receive the results.
If you are not sure what to test first, start with whatever handles money or personal data and faces the internet: internet banking, customer portals, mobile apps and their APIs. A scoping call with one of our consultants takes thirty minutes, costs nothing and ends with a written proposal that lists exactly what will be tested, by whom, over which dates and at what fixed price.
What the engagement covers
| Area | What we cover |
|---|---|
| Web applications | Authentication, session handling, access control, injection, business logic and the full OWASP Top 10. |
| Mobile applications | Android and iOS builds tested against the OWASP MASVS, including local storage, transport security and reverse engineering. |
| APIs | REST and GraphQL endpoints tested for broken object level authorisation, mass assignment, rate limits and data exposure. |
| Networks | External perimeter and internal infrastructure, Active Directory, segmentation, wireless and exposed services. |
How we deliver it, in 6 steps
-
01
Scope
We agree targets, testing windows, rules of engagement and points of contact, then sign an authorisation letter and NDA.
-
02
Reconnaissance
Passive and active discovery maps your attack surface: domains, endpoints, technologies and exposed information.
-
03
Scanning
Automated and manual enumeration identifies candidate vulnerabilities, which are then triaged to remove false positives.
-
04
Exploitation
Confirmed weaknesses are exploited safely to demonstrate real impact, with critical findings escalated to you immediately.
-
05
Reporting
You receive an executive summary, a technical report with evidence and CVSS ratings, and a walkthrough session.
-
06
Retest
After remediation we retest every finding at no extra cost and issue an updated attestation letter.

What you receive
- Executive summary written for board and management
- Technical findings with proof of concept, CVSS scores and remediation guidance
- Risk heat map and prioritised remediation roadmap
- Free retest and attestation letter for auditors and partners

Questions about VAPT
Will testing disrupt our systems?
Testing is planned around your business hours and agreed limits. Denial of service and destructive techniques are excluded unless you request them in writing, and we can test against a staging environment where one exists.
How long does an engagement take?
A single web application typically takes five to ten working days including reporting. Larger scopes are quoted after a short scoping call.
What is the difference between a vulnerability assessment and a penetration test?
An assessment identifies and rates weaknesses. A penetration test goes further and safely exploits them to prove what an attacker could actually achieve. Most clients choose a combined VAPT engagement.
Do you sign an NDA?
Always, before any scoping detail is shared. Findings are encrypted at rest and in transit and are only shared with the contacts you nominate.
How much does a penetration test cost in Kenya?
Cost depends on scope: the number of applications, user roles, API endpoints and network ranges. After a short scoping call we send a fixed written quote, so the price does not change once testing starts.
