Most networks we test are flat: once an attacker gets a foothold on one laptop, they can reach the servers, the CCTV system and the finance PCs. Our network security hardening service closes those paths, so a single compromised device stays a small problem instead of becoming a breach.

We begin with an assessment of your architecture and device configurations against CIS benchmarks and our own testing experience: firewall rule bases, switch and router settings, wireless controllers, remote access, logging and exposed services. The report ranks findings by risk and effort, so you can see which changes reduce the most exposure for the least disruption.

Implementation typically includes deploying or tuning next generation firewalls with intrusion prevention, web filtering and SSL inspection, segmenting the network so critical systems sit in their own zones, removing years of unused and overly permissive firewall rules, hardening device configurations, and replacing shared VPN accounts with secure remote access protected by multi factor authentication. Changes are made in controlled windows with tested rollback plans, and documented as they go.

What makes this service different is validation. When the work is finished, our penetration testers attack the hardened network to confirm the controls actually stop lateral movement, and you receive a report that proves it, which is valuable evidence for auditors, regulators and cyber insurers. Logging and alerting are set up so suspicious activity is seen early, and periodic reviews keep the network hardened as staff, systems and threats change.

Hardening is not a one off project. Networks change every month as staff join and leave, new systems are connected and suppliers request access. We offer quarterly configuration reviews and firewall rule audits so the network stays as hardened as the day we finished, and so any drift is caught before an attacker or an auditor finds it.

Questions about Security and Hardening

Do you support our existing firewall brand?

We work with all major vendors including Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks, Sophos, Cisco and pfSense.

Will hardening disrupt our operations?

Changes are planned with your team, made in agreed maintenance windows and tested before and after, with a rollback plan for every step.

Do you work with the firewall we already have?

Yes. We harden existing Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks, Sophos, Cisco, MikroTik and pfSense deployments, and only recommend replacement when the device cannot meet your requirements.
