How Eligen Technologies Limited collects, uses and protects personal data under the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019.

Last updated 6 October 2026

Who we are

Eligen Technologies Limited ("Eligen", "we") is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. Contact us at info@eligencybersecurity.org or at our office at The Brick Mall, Kiambu Road, Nairobi.

What we collect

  • Details you give us in our forms: name, email address, phone number, organisation and the content of your message.
  • Technical data needed to run and protect the site: IP address, browser type and the pages you request, kept in server logs for security.
  • Visit statistics, always: we count page views on our own server, recording only the page, the website that linked to it, the type of device and the country. No cookies are used and no IP address or other personal data is stored. Unique visitors are counted with a code that changes every day and is deleted within 24 hours.
  • Analytics, only if you choose "Allow analytics": visit and form statistics through Meta Pixel. The Meta Pixel also measures whether our adverts on Facebook and Instagram lead to enquiries.

Why we use it

To respond to your enquiry, prepare proposals, deliver services you request and keep the website secure. Our lawful bases are your consent, steps taken at your request before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in protecting our systems.

How long we keep it

TODO: confirm retention periods with your advocate. Proposed: enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are deleted within 24 months; client records are kept for the engagement and as long as legal, tax and regulatory obligations require; security logs are kept for 90 days.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with providers that help us run the business, such as hosting and email, under contracts that require them to protect it, or where the law requires.

Your rights

Under the Data Protection Act 2019 you may ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, object to its processing or withdraw consent at any time. Email info@eligencybersecurity.org and we will respond within the statutory timelines. You may also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.

Security

Data travels over HTTPS, access to submissions is restricted to authorised staff with two factor authentication, and our own security team reviews the systems that hold it.
